We use a chrysanthemum-derived (pyrethrin) botanical solution instead of harsh synthetic chemicals — the same type of naturally-sourced insecticide used across the misting industry, applied through MistAway Systems equipment. It breaks down quickly outdoors and we time applications to limit exposure to kids, pets, and pollinators. As with any insecticide, we recommend staying clear of direct spray and covering exposed food, water bowls, and ponds during treatment. No — they're two different systems. Mosquito misting uses a chrysanthemum-derived (pyrethrin) solution to control mosquitoes. Patio cooling systems run plain water only, with no pesticide at all, and exist purely to cool the air around your patio or deck through evaporation on hot days. You can have either one on its own, or both installed together.

Most systems are programmed to mist twice a day, around dawn and dusk, but the schedule is fully adjustable. Planning an outdoor event? You can run an extra manual cycle right before guests arrive.
